About me: My experience as a Governor began at Kirkby Malham Primary where I was Vice Chair of Governors and involved with finance and Early Years and Foundation stage in particular. I was also involved in the successful Ofsted inspection there in 2019 when the school was judged by Ofsted to be GOOD in all areas, including leadership and Management, teaching and learning .

As part of the Federated Board I am now the Chair and am really enjoying working with a very professional and dedicated team of Governors and staff across the two schools.

My experience of work until having children was as an operations manager for a utilities company.

I now work with my husband on our beef and sheep farm in Malhamdale and look after our four children.

About me: My name is Tim Broughton and I am the Minister of St. John's Methodist Church in Settle, as well as having responsibility for the churches in Rathmell, Hellifield and Ingleton. Prior to ministry I spent over 30 years in the IT industry, most recently as IT Director for a large retail company in Accrington. I was born and brought up in Tyler's Green, a small village outside High Wycombe in Bucks.  I became a Christian in my teens and began attending a church youth group at my local Anglican church.  I moved 'north' in my early twenties, living in Preston for a number of years before moving to Gargrave, near Skipton, where I found myself, once again, running the youth group at the local Anglican church and where I jointly founded a charity, the Isaiah Trust, reaching out and supporting Street Children in Kisumu, Kenya.

In 2013 I felt called to leave my role in IT and to seek full time ministry within the Methodist Church.  I successfully candidated and began training at Queen's Foundation, Brimingham, on a part-time basis, whilst serving notice with my company and helping to recruit my successor in that role.  I completed my studies in the Summer of 2018 and took up my first appointment as a Probationer Presbyter in the Settle Circuit shortly afterwards.

I am married to Pam and our son, Harry, has recently completed university and now lives and works in Glasgow. Pam and I love to walk and spend most of our free time amongst the beautiful scenery of the Dales.  I am a keen birdwatcher, love to cook, and enjoy the theatre, painting and photography, play a little golf when time allows and follow Wycombe Wanderers.

Governor Role: Foundation Governor, RE and Collective Worship, Curriculum

Attendance 2022/23: 100%

About me:

I am the Priest-in-Charge of Settle Parish Church, which brings with it the privilege of stepping into an ex-officio post of Foundation Governor.

I am fairly new to the area and was licensed into the parish in November 2019.

Prior to my appointment at Settle, I served my curacy at Barnoldswick and was very involved with the Church of England Primary School there. Leading Collective Worship, being a regular presence at school events and being instrumental in the spiritual well-being of the school community is important to me and something that I am keen to develop.

As a Mum to two grown up children and grandma to five, I bring with me a wealth of experience where children are concerned. Prior to ordination, I worked for a telecommunications company as a technical training consultant.

About me:

I live in Malhamdale with my husband and am a foundation governor at Kirkby Malham and serve as a governor on the Federation, with a particular interest and focus on behaviour.  I work in a strategic leadership role in Children’s Services in Leeds, working closely with schools to make sure there are enough places at the right time and in the right place, from 0-25.  The remit is broad and allows me to have a good understanding of the range of challenges schools face, particularly around funding.

I have a coaching and mentoring business, which also delivers a range of training, based on the applied uses of Neuro Linguistic Programming in coaching, leadership and within schools.  And when I’m not busy with those you’ll find me out and about in the Dale walking the dogs.

About me: I live in High Bentham with my husband and 3 children. 2 of my boys currently attend Settle Primary School and my youngest will hopefully join nursery next year. I was born and raised in Settle and I am an ex Settle Primary School student myself.

I work at Computershare base in Skipton, formerly Homeloan Management Ltd (HML) in the Client Finance Team. My experience over the years is varied, including; processing payments, bank reconciliations, monthly financial reporting, liaising with clients and managing people.

I have been a parent governor at Settle primary school for 2 years now. During my 2 years I have undergone numerous training courses to expand my knowledge of school governance. I have undertaken learning walks through school to learn as much about the inner workings of our school as possible. Currently I am a link governor for Curriculum, I'm part of the Finance and Resource committee and I am on the Head's Appraisal committee.

Prior to my role as Parent Governor, I was the chair of the Settle Primary School PTA, a role which I really enjoyed. I am still an active member of the PTA and I love being involved in school activities and fundraising events. I love being a part of the school community.

I have worked as a teacher at Kirkby Malham Primary School since 1998 and have taught all age groups at some point in time!

I am currently the Assistant Headteacher and Class teacher at Kirkby Malham Primary and was also re-elected as the Staff Governor in 2019. I love the community feel of both schools and feel very proud to be working with such a dedicated team with so many lovely children and supportive parents.

I think the close partnership between Kirkby Malham and Settle CE Primary has been incredibly successful and has very quickly brought enormous benefits to both schools. An exciting future awaits!

Appointed by the Governing Body

Date Appointed: January 2004 / Federation appointment October 2019

Term of Office: October 2019  onwards

Attendance 2022/23: 100%

I am currently the Executive Headteacher of the Settle and Malhamdale Partnership. I have worked in a headteacher capacity for almost twenty years and have experience working in a governor role for over twenty five years, serving four primary schools in the county areas of Calderdale and North Yorkshire.

I am married to Helen, who currently teaches Early Years pupils at Settle CE Primary School and we have two children who attended Settle CE Primary and are now at secondary school.

Kirkby Malham Primary was my first headship in 2001 and later I moved to Settle CE Primary in 2004.

It has been very satisfying and rewarding to have these two wonderful school communities joined and working closely in partnership since 2018.

The two schools are now federated and this brings with it many advantages which will go to further strengthen the quality of provision at both schools.

I feel very honoured to be leading both schools during this very exciting time and am lucky to have the support of a very committed governing body and amazing staff team.
