Year 6 pupils at Kirkby Malham Primary and Settle Primary worked with Ellie from Wild Ingleborough to complete Part 3 of the John Muir Award - ‘Discover a Wild Place’.

It certainly was wild but children worked well in teams despite the inclement weather, explored the environment and hunted for animal clues, listened to bird calls, carried out a walk by Ribblehead and searched for an Anglo-Saxon settlement looking for artefacts…And amazingly we found some Mini Eggs on our hunt!!!!

The teams worked together to put up shelters to eat lunch in, built rock towers and made wild art inspired by Curlews! Some samples of these are in the photos below.

Many thanks to Ellie and Dwayne from Wild Ingleborough.

Children will soon be sharing all their work on this project at Victoria Hall in Settle where friends and family will be invited to come and see all our work and learn about our adventures.
